Products Description

ESD Kapton Tape (ESD Polyimide Tape) is a high-temperature adhesive tape made of a 0.025 mm polyimide (PI) film backing coated with a silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive. By performing antistatic treatment on one and two sides, it combines the electrical insulation and heat resistance of polyimide tape with ESD protection for electronics production environments where both static control and precision matter.

The series covers two typical models: P0106E with a total thickness of 0.06 mm and P0108E with a total thickness of 0.08 mm. Both are supplied in gold, red, green and transparent colors, and can be provided as rolls, sheets or custom die-cut parts according to your design.

Products Features

High-Temperature Resistance: typical long-term temperature resistance of 260°C and short-term resistance of 280°C for both models.

Antistatic Treatment: one-side and two-side antistatic treatment options support applications that require ESD protection in addition to insulation.

Electrical Insulation: typical breakdown voltage of 5 KV (P0106E) and 7 KV (P0108E).

Silicone Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive: 180° peel strength of 5–5.5 N/inch, tensile strength of 10 kg/25mm (P0106E) and 20 kg/25mm (P0108E), with elongation at break of 45% and 55%.

Thin, Flexible Construction: 0.06 mm or 0.08 mm total thickness on a 0.025 mm PI film backing, easy to conform to edges and small components.

Products Construction

The tape is built from two layers: a 0.025 mm polyimide (PI) film as the backing and a silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, giving a total thickness of 0.06 mm (P0106E) or 0.08 mm (P0108E).

Storage: keep in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight at 0–40°C and <80% relative humidity; for optimal performance, use within 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Products Application

ESD-Safe Electronics Assembly: component fixing and insulation work in ESD-protected electronics assembly areas.

High-Temperature Soldering Masking: masking of gold fingers, contacts and connectors on PCBs before wave soldering or reflow processes, supported by the 260°C long-term temperature resistance.

Coil & Transformer Insulation: wrapping the copper windings of motors and transformers for electrical insulation.

Capacitor & Module Wrapping: insulating wrap for capacitors, modules and other components, available as rolls, sheets or die-cut parts.

FAQ

What is the difference between ESD kapton tape and standard polyimide tape?

ESD kapton tape uses the same PI film and silicone adhesive system, with antistatic treatment applied on one or two sides, so it is aimed at applications that require ESD protection in addition to insulation and heat resistance.

What temperatures can the tape withstand?

Typical values are 260°C for long-term use and 280°C for short-term exposure, for both P0106E and P0108E.

Which thicknesses and colors are available?

Two typical models are available: P0106E at 0.06 mm and P0108E at 0.08 mm total thickness, both on a 0.025 mm PI backing, in gold, red, green and transparent.

Can the tape be supplied die-cut?

Yes. The tape can be supplied as rolls, sheets or custom-cut parts tailored to industry standards or customer-specific designs. Contact us with your drawing or width and length requirements for confirmation.
